Privacy policy

rentsearch.lu is free and anonymous. We do not use accounts, tracking pixels or advertising.

What we store: rent pins (rent, area, deposit, notice period, furnishing, commune, an optional note and a location rounded to roughly 100 metres), listings (the same details plus photos and the contact email and phone you enter), and the email address of anyone who asks to see a listing's contact details.

Why: rent pins exist so renters can compare real prices. Listing contact details are stored only to pass them to interested seekers, and are never shown publicly on the map. Reports are stored with a one-way hash of your IP address purely to prevent abuse; the address itself is never kept.

How long: rent pins and listings stay until you delete them. You can remove your own entries at any time from the map, from your management link, or with the deletion form below.

Your rights: under the GDPR you may access, correct or erase your data. The form below deletes everything tied to an email address automatically, after you confirm by email.

Photos are stored in a private bucket and shown through short-lived signed links. Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap and address search from Nominatim; those services see your IP address as part of serving the map.

Interest requests: when you ask to see a listing's contact details, we store your email address solely for abuse prevention and rate limiting. It is never shared with anyone other than the listing owner you are contacting, is never sold or used for marketing, and is deleted automatically after 90 days.

If you delete a listing you posted, you can choose to keep the rent figure on the map as an anonymous rent pin. In that case the location (already rounded), rent and furnishing remain, while your email, phone, photos, description, availability, deposit, notice period and ownership token are permanently deleted. You can also choose to delete everything, including the rent figure. Listings hidden after reports or removed by a moderator are never converted.
